SUPPORT TO UK NATIONALS LIVING IN SLOVAKIA

IOM Slovakia provides citizens of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK) and their family members living in Slovakia with information and practical support in registering their residence in Slovakia. Changes in the residence status of UK nationals living in Slovakia result from the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union.

In addition to assistance with securing their residence rights, IOM provides UK nationals and their family members with practical support in other areas of life that can be affected by the UK’s departure from the EU such as:

  • work
  • study
  • business
  • healthcare
  • social security

Apart from providing information and practical support IOM plans to organize townhall meetings with UK nationals living across Slovakia. „For these people it might be more difficult to register their residence in Slovakia. We want the information on securing their residence rights to reach as many UK nationals living in Slovakia as possible, “ explains Zuzana Vatráľová, the head of IOM office in Slovakia.

Aside from Slovakia similar services are also offered by IOM missions in France, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Italy. Altogether the aim is to provide approximately 30 000 UK nationals with support in securing and maintaining their residency rights in these countries. The program is financially supported by the government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland through its UK Nationals Support Fund.
